About Geula Vardi:

 

As an artist and director of many projects for many years Geula has learned to create a harmony in the environment around her. She is passionate about bringing people together and is known for bringing life to any project she oversees.

 

Experience:

 

Art Director, World of Art Studios, Current 

Currently I am the director of my own art studio.The objective is to enrich young artists and encourage them to be the true artists that they are. As part of the program I organize a professional art show every year for the students to present their master pieces. My students have won prizes in local and state competitions and have since become established artists.

 

Solomon Shechter, New Milford, NJ

I started with a seasonal program, that involved how creating a mural inspired by the love   of Israel. The mural was geared towards engaging and uniting all the different students to come together and present a mural that signifies the beauty of Israel. As a result of this project I was offered the position of the after school art instructor for 16 years.

 

I had the privilege of having one of my students win 2nd place in a National Competition called the Garden of Jerusalem. I also organized my students artwork to be presented in the White House. We received a personal letter from  Bill Clinton thanking the students and admiring the work they have accomplished.

 

Hebrew Academy, Morristown, NJ

 

In Hebrew Academy I taught art using all various mediums, including many of my own original techniques, to Kindergarten to 8th grade students, as well as directed the decoration of all the scenery for the student production of West Side Story.

 

Kushner Academy, High School, Livingston, NJ

 

When Kushner was first established, I  was hired to create their art program from  scratch this included purchasing all the supplies necessary, and developing a unique curriculum for the students.

 

Kinneret Day School, Riverdale, NY

 

As Art Director, I was in charge of organizing the school’s presentation for the Salute to Israel Day Parade, including the decorations, choreographing dancing, singing, costume design and ensuring a smooth production. We received first place for the best presentation by the UJA. This position lead me to be hired by the UJA to be a consultant for the Jewish Day Schools in New York specifically for organizing their involvement in the Salute to Israel Day Parade.  

 

Another project that I created was a performance with the students from the school. I wrote the script for the show, the words for the songs, designed the costumes and scenery and choreographed the dancing. This performance was presented before Ed Koch Mayor of New York.

 

JCC, Riverdale, NY

    

Art Director, focused on fine arts, including painting and sculpting.

 

YMHA, Washington Township, NJ

  

 I held workshops for pottery, arts and crafts.

 

Jewish Federation of Bergen County

 

    Instructed and directed seasonal workshops geared towards the various holidays.

 

CAJE, Convention for Jewish Education, Hofstra University

 

Presented an art exhibit which entailed bringing into expression the atmosphere that   existed amongst the Jewish immigrants who immigrated after WWII to the Lower East Side. This presentation included 150 paintings, photo collages and various other mixed media pieces, and was viewed by 3,000 people.

Israel Sunday, Hosted by Caroline

 

   Instructed an innovative way of creating masks of peace for the holiday of Purim.

 

Expereince As Director/ Organizer:

 

Nitzanim Hebrew School, NJ

 

Founder of Nitzanim Hebrew School. Organizing the students and teachers, desined their logo, coordinated and instructed various art workshops for the seasons and Jewish Holidays.  

 

Fundraiser for Meyer Hospital, Israel

 

Organized 30 local artists, musicians, singers and comedians to dedicate their time performing to raise money for the Meyer Hospital in Kfar Saba to receive new incubators that were lacking as a result of terrorist attacks.

 

Israeli Evenings for Artists

 

This was an event that I organized once a month where many different musicians and singers gathered for evenings of heartfelt singing, poetry readings, talent show,musical performances and nostalgia.

 

Liberation of Yemenite Jews

 

As a result of my substantial involvement in the liberation of the Yemenite Jews that were being detained in Yemen, my artwork was given in the UN to the Foreign Minister of Yemen to honor his approval of their liberation. I was responsible for giving them a voice, raising funds and helping them to acclimate to the United States.

 

Yemenite Culture Lectures and Shows

 

As an ongoing project I have been organizing and running lectures and exhibitions educating audiences on the Yemenite Jewry as an attempt to preserve this beautiful culture. Most of my lectures involve hands on participation, whether it’s with cooking Yemenite food or designing Yemenite Jewelry as well as showcasing Traditional and authentic Yemenite apparel.

 

Fashion Design for Ofra Haza

 

    I designed the costumes for many of Ofra Haza’s performances.
